Where will MCE be held?
SMK Seafield, Subang Jaya
How much are the fees?
Competition only: MYR500 per category + MYR50 per participant (minimum 25 participants).
Festival only: MYR150 per participant.
Both: MYR500 per category + MYR160 per participant.
When is the registration deadline?
19th April 2009 (Sunday); with completed registration form, full payment and supporting documents.
If I am / we are from outside of the Klang Valley or Malaysia, are accommodations provided?
Various accommodation packages are available. Please refer to MCE Packages at ‘Downloads’.
Is there age limit to participate?
Choral Competition:
Children category: 13 years old and below
Youth category: 13 to 19 years old
Choral Festival:
No age limit. Children, youth and adults are encouraged to participate.
COMPETITION: How many singers should there be in a choir?
Minimum 25 singers; no maximum limit.
COMPETITION: How many songs do we need to prepare?
3 songs. 1 song must be a local composition or an arrangement of a song from the country of origin of the choir, and 2 songs of own choice.
COMPETITION: How much time are we given to sing all 3 songs?
Each choir should not exceed 10 minutes of pure singing time.
COMPETITION: Are we allowed to have any accompaniment?
Choirs may sing a cappella or with accompaniments. Permitted accompaniments are piano, percussions, guitar and ethnic instruments. Minus one or any form of recorded accompaniments is strictly PROHIBITED.
